IPL 2026 Winner Prediction — Which Team Will Win the Title?

Before a ball is bowled, our AI model assigns each team a pre-tournament title probability based on squad strength, auction outcomes, venue advantages, captain leadership, and historical head-to-head data. Here is how the 2026 field looks heading into the season.

Methodology

Sport God AI's pre-tournament model runs 10,000 Monte Carlo simulations of the full IPL 2026 season. Each simulation plays out 84 matches using team-level batting and bowling ratings derived from the previous 24 months of T20 data, adjusted for auction trades and player movement. The result is a probability distribution for each team's season outcome.

Title probabilities

• RCB — 28%: Defending champions with Kohli, Maxwell, and a world-class pace attack. The strongest squad on paper by the model's ratings.
• MI — 19%: Bumrah + Rohit + Pandya in an MI jersey again. Deep batting and the best death bowler ever assembled.
• GT — 16%: Shubman Gill is the most expensive auction buy in history. Rashid Khan + Mohammed Shami + Spencer Johnson = elite bowling unit.
• CSK — 13%: A Dhoni-powered side with Sanju Samson's acquisition. Experience under pressure has always been CSK's edge.
• KKR — 10%: Defending 2024 champions with Sunil Narine + Andre Russell still explosive. Tougher auction this year, but never sleep on KKR.
• Others (SRH, DC, RR, PBKS, LSG) — 14% combined

Key variables that change everything

Our model's confidence interval is wide — T20 cricket is inherently high-variance. A Bumrah injury, a Kohli purple patch, or a rain-affected key match can shift probabilities 10+ percentage points within a single week. The model re-runs after every match.
