Pakistan chased down 326 to beat Sri Lanka by three wickets in the tri-series final at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, with Fakhar Zaman's 127 off 99 balls anchoring a reply of 331 for 7 in 48.3 overs to hand the hosts the title on home soil.
Pakistan's chase did not start well, slipping to 14 for 2 early on, before Fakhar Zaman and Saad Baig rebuilt the innings with a 149-run stand; Baig made 74 off 75 balls in support. After Fakhar fell, Arafat Minhas and Hasan Nawaz added a rapid 94 off 65 balls for the sixth wicket to put the chase beyond Sri Lanka's reach, with Dilshan Madushanka finishing as the most successful Sri Lankan bowler with 3 for 63.
Fakhar Zaman, who struck 11 fours and 6 sixes in his Player of the Match innings, gave Pakistan the platform to recover from an early wobble against a target set by Kamindu Mendis's own maiden ODI century for Sri Lanka. Two centuries from two different sides in the same final made for a high-scoring finish to a tournament that had earlier been defined by Madushanka's five-wicket haul knocking Pakistan into the group-stage runner-up spot before this winner-takes-all rematch.
The win gives Pakistan the 2026-27 ODI tri-series title on home soil, completing a tournament in which they had reached the final unbeaten before needing a full chase of 326 to close it out against the side that had already beaten them once in the group stage. For Sri Lanka, Mendis's century and the 325 for 8 total were not enough to prevent a final defeat, despite setting a target that pushed Pakistan's middle order to work hard for the win.
Fakhar Zaman's Player of the Match century is the clear standout performance from the final, with Saad Baig and Arafat Minhas's supporting stands also worth noting for value returns; Dilshan Madushanka's 3 for 63 keeps him the pick of Sri Lanka's bowling across the tournament.
